Belarus' investment climate praised as favorable

Belarus has developed a favorable investment climate, AgriGo Director General Anatoly Mindel said in a ceremony to commission a broiler chickens unit at the Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky which was built with the use of technology by Israel’s AgriGo company.

“We have been working in Belarus, because here they are willing to listen to us. It is easy to work here,” said Anatoly Mindel. He expressed the hope that other Israeli companies will also succeed in implementing projects in Belarus.

Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel Shalom Simchon said that Israel was ready to cooperate with Belarus in various areas of agriculture, especially in the dairy industry, as well as in research in agriculture. Shalom Simchon expressed hope that the Belarusian-Israeli cooperation in agriculture will be successfully developing further.

The broiler chickens unit at the Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky was constructed with the use of the Israeli AgriGo Ltd. technologies which are unmatched in the CIS. Overall investment in the project totaled €4 million. The planned annual production capacity will make up 10,000 tonnes of poultry.

The project was a result of the agreements reached during a series of business meetings brokered by the Embassy of Belarus in Israel during the visit of the Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus to Israel in May 2009.

The Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky represents a high-technology manufacture including poultry raising, egg production and sales of the ready-made products. The company was set up following the merger of the Pyatigorye agricultural company, Khotovo fishery, Pravda-Agro, Iskra-Agro and Falko-2003, Fanipolagrotrans haulage company, Molochnik company, and Negoreloye Bakery. The Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky was the first in the industry to receive integrated management system certificates of compliance with poultry production and conservation requirements STB ISO 9001-2009; HACCP (STB 1470-204); STB ISO 1401-2005 and STB 18001-2005.
