Belarus seeks to improve its position on WB Doing Business rankings


Belarus is working hard to improve its position on the World Bank Doing Business rankings, Economy minister Nikolai Snopokv told reporters.

“We have developed a plan of joint action of the government and the National Bank. We believe we will succeed. The goal to make it to the top thirty countries with best business conditions is quite achievable, the minister said.

The WB rating features a range of indicators, and Belarus is guided by them while implementing institutional reforms, structural changes in order to get closer to optimal values, Nikolai Snopkov said. The rating itself is not that important as the elements that make it. How fast Belarus will be able to improve its standing in the rating depends on many factors such as mentality, human factor, corporate executives, government, the National Bank, the minister noted.
