Belarus to build 34 energy facilities with Chinese loans


Belarus plans to construct 34 energy facilities with the help of Chinese loans, according to Council of Ministers’ resolution No 1210 of 18 August 2010.

The list comprised energy companies in every Belarusian oblast. Among them the construction of a 65MW heat electropower plant in Brest, 330kV power line Bereza State District Power Plant-Pinsk-Mikashevichi, Nemnovo, Vitebsk, Beshenkovichi, Verkhnedvinsk, Rechitsa, Mogilev, Shklov hydropower plants. Grodnoenergo has also ordered a construction of a 330kV power line for power delivery of the nuclear plant’s first power generating unit.

Steam-gas units (400MW) will be installed at the Bereza and Lukoml state district power plants. The list also includes Baranovichi, Vitebsk, Novopolotsk, Mogilev, Mozyr heat electropower plants, Bobruisk Heat Electropower Plant No 2, Severnaya boiler-house in Minsk. Chinese loans will be also put in the construction of 11 energy substations in Minsk.

Belarus’ energy potential strategy through 2020 envisages a switch to 330kV and 110kV voltage, upgrading and construction of more than 20 substations of 330kV.
