EC allocates 10 mln Euro to help Belarus enhance its energy sector

The European Commission has allocated ?10 million worth of financial assistance to help Belarus make its energy sector more efficient.



The European Commission has allocated €10 million worth of financial assistance to help Belarus make its energy sector more efficient.

Funding will be allocated to support energy-saving technologies in the sectors of consumer goods and industrial products in Belarus. The financial assistance will also be used to improve relevant laboratories and standardization programs in energy efficiency.

The program also provides for a series of pilot projects, and regional information campaigns to raise public awareness about the main problems of the energy sector.

Funding is provided through the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument. Except Belarus, the program brings together 16 countries – EU partners bordering the EU to the east and south.
