Lukashenko to discuss National Agency for Investment and Privatization


President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will hold a meeting to discuss the issues regarding the establishment and activities of the National Agency for Investment and Privatization.

The president signed the decree on establishing the agency on 25 May 2010. It has been formed by means of reorganizing the National Investment Agency subordinated to the Economy Ministry. The agency has been reassigned to the Government of Belarus. The agency will be run by the supervisory board headed by the Prime Minister. The board will include 10 members: top ranking officials of the Presidential Administration, Economy Ministry, Finance Ministry, State Property Committee and other government agencies.

The agency will implement the state policy in investment and privatization, search for investors. In addition, the agency will also monitor the implementation of investment projects, carry out activities to improve the investment image of Belarus, update an information databank on investment activities and also organize interaction between government bodies on privatization and investment.
