Prospects of Belarusian IPO at Frankfurt Stock Exchange under discussion

Prospects of an initial public offering of Belarusian securities at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange were discussed in Germany on 16 November, announced representatives of the State Property Committee of Belarus.

Taking part in the negotiations were representatives of the State Property Committee of Belarus, Deutsche Bank, and the German stock exchange Deutsche Borse. The roundtable meeting took place as part of the Belarus Investment Forum in Frankfurt am Main with assistance of Belarusbank.

An initial public offering (IPO) is one of the most popular instruments to get long-term investments from abroad. According to the German side, Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Borse are ready to highlight major advantages and consequences of an IPO to Belarusian companies and demonstrate why such offerings can be profitable for the Belarusian economy. The most opportune time for an IPO is under consideration.

Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Borse are advertized as experienced financial advisors and IPO organizers, which offer an extensive sales network and a choice of the suitable stock exchange that will offer liquid trade and access to international investors.

For several years Belarus has been working on promoting domestic issuers onto the international financial market. The work takes into account proposals of government agencies and opinions of foreign experts, including Deutsche Bank.
