A new biogas production to be launched in Belarus in November

 

A new biogas complex is to operate from November, 1 at agricultural enterprise “Snov” (Nesvizh district). The biogas complex capacity is 2 MW. Total investment amounts to 6.7 mlnEuro. The investing company, “TDF Ecotech AG”, has created a joint venture with “Snov” in order to launch the project. Power and heat produced will be used for both residential needs (“Snov”’s buildings’ heating) and consumers provision. Complex will also produce about 155 thd. m3 of liquid manure per year. The biogas complex will use haylage waste, milled straw, poultry and animal breeding and meat-processing waste.  Similar biogas complex is soon to be constructed at OAO “Lan-Nesvizh”.

Today 7 biogas complex work in Belarus, including 2 powerstations onlandfill gas, 3 agricultural and 2 industrial waste biogas complexes. Currently another line of biogas complex at poultry farm “Belarusian” (Minsk region) is at design stage, Belarusian National Academy of Science also carries out a biogas pilot draft at “Zazerye” base.

During next 5 years, according to Belarusian state program of development of local and renewable energy sources in 2011-2015, a number of biogas stations on sewage, sugar plants, animal farms wastes operation with total capacity of 90 MW is to be constructed and put into operation.
