New confectionary company to be built in Belarus

A new confectionary will be built in Belarus, Chairman of the Belgospishcheprom Concern Ivan Danchenko told reporters in Minsk on 16 March. The progress made by the concern in reaching foreign trade surplus as well as its investment attraction policy were considered at a session of the Council of Ministers Presidium.

According to Ivan Danchenko, no decision has been made so far on the investor. The Belarusian side is currently in talks with the Ukrainian Roshen, Finnish and German companies.

In his words, Belarus is attractive for investors who are ready to pump funds into its confectionary industry. He pointed to a substantial amount of high-quality feedstock for the confectionary sector.

Special attention in the future will be focused on increasing the productive capacities of the existing confectionaries including Kommunarka and Spartak. “It is 28 new lines on seven operating companies,” Ivan Danchenko said. In his words, Belarus invites world brands on its market to promote the production of qualitative confectionary products.
In 2015 the confectionary output growth is planned at 1.6 times over 2010.
