The President of Belarus suggested granting investors the right to use preferential terms given to FEZ

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has suggested granting investors the right to use preferential terms given to FEZ resident companies in any region of the country. The head of state made this statement as he visited Santa Bremor and Savushkin Product companies on 23 June.

We need to finish slicing the land; we need to give investors the right to choose a place where they want to work using FEZ principles. I believe we should expand FEZ preferential terms to all over the country,” Alexander Lukashenko said. He added, “Let us try, we need to give momentum to business. This matter will be settled and will no longer be brought to the President’s attention,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The head of state underlined that one of the reasons why he visited Santa Bremor was to decide what should be done next – whether the country should opt for FEZ expansion or offer FEZ preferential terms to businessmen.

After touring Santa Bremor, the head of state concluded that the further expansion of FEZ makes no economic sense. It is up to an investor to choose where he would like to work. “We need to give a choice to investors regarding the place of operation. Very soon they will operate using the same principles as, for example, Santa Bremor in the free economic zone Brest,” the head of state said.
